Help Taylor and Tyler with their High-Risk Pregnancy

This Mama Bear, along with my family, is reaching out for your support for our oldest daughter (and sister,) Taylor. Taylor who moved from Canada to the USA to be with her now-husband, Tyler, is 32 weeks pregnant. Everything was going great—my daughter and her amazing husband were getting more and more excited with each passing day—until a routine ultrasound revealed the devastating diagnosis of Vasa Previa, a rare and dangerous condition where unprotected fetal blood vessels cross the cervix. This poses a life-threatening risk to the baby, as these vessels can rupture at any time, often just before labor. In such cases, doctors have only minutes to perform an emergency C-section to save the baby’s life.

Taylor was admitted to the hospital on September 30th, at only 32 weeks, so she can be closely monitored for her high-risk pregnancy. She is also being treated for a low-lying placenta and a high-risk umbilical cord condition, which adds further risk to my grandbaby. The medical professionals and Taylor are doing everything they can to delay delivery, and keep Mama and baby safe, though most babies with Vasa Previa are born prematurely.

As if this overwhelming stress and concern weren’t enough, Taylor unfortunately doesn’t yet qualify for her husband Tyler’s healthcare, leaving her with unimaginable medical expenses. Despite Tyler working tirelessly as a firefighter and holding a second full-time job, the weight of these unexpected costs will be a crushing burden for this young family just starting their life together. We have explored every avenue for assistance without success.
