Help teacher fight her battle against cancer

Ms. Villanueva is a compassionate, caring, and selfless individual that was diagnosed with cancer back in April, 2021. She has been with the Salinas City Elementary School District for over 10 years. She has been giving back to the community for her entire adult career in different capacities, it is now our chance to give back to her.

 

Immediately after being diagnosed, she began the first course of her treatment.   After many months, we were hopeful that she had beaten her cancer.  Unfortunately, the cancer has returned and she must start a new and more aggressive round of treatment.  

 

Since her diagnosis, Ms. Villanueva has had many appointments and surgeries requiring recovery days.  This means Ms. Villanueva has exhausted her sick leave and it is now impacting her salary. This huge financial burden has added significant stress on top of her already major health concerns. Ms. Villanueva is currently seeking treatment at Stanford, which means she is also incurring travel expenses for her numerous appointments. 

 

We want to help our friend and colleague through this difficult and challenging time, just as she has always been there for us and our community.  Any contribution you can give will lighten her burden and will be greatly appreciated. We know our community always  comes together for each other in time of need.
