Help Teagan Heal: Support Life-Saving Treatment
Donation protected
Our dear family friend, Teagan, who at the tender age of 19, has been battling three autoimmune conditions (Crohn's, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, and Autoimmune Hepatitis), and recently had a biopsy revealing liver damage from the Hepatitis. The traditional treatment route usually includes putting the patient on immune "suppressants" for life as well as steroids. Unfortunately, these options put Teagan at risk for dire consequences like blood cancers and fatal brain infections. However, there is hope! Teagan's mother, Renee, has researched extensively and located Dr. Berkson, who practices integrative medicine and is an adjunct professor at New Mexico State University and Oklahoma State University College of Medicine. He has had much success in the treatment of this particular scenario with high doses of alpha lipoic acid (a naturally occurring substance in the body). We feel strongly that this is the best chance at reversing damage to his liver and also keep him off of the transplant list. Teagan was just accepted into this treatment program in New Mexico which requires a two to three week stay for daily treatments and lifestyle adjustments. It is not covered by insurance, so we need your help! Teagan never complains, but living with this condition causes him fatique, itchy skin and loss of appetite. This treatment would not only potentially save his life, but dramatically improve the quality of it.
