FRC 687 - The Nerd Herd needs your help. We have qualified for the FIRST Robotics Championship in Houston, TX, on April 18-21. (https://www.firstchampionship.org)
After intense competition at the Los Angeles Regional and the Las Vegas Regional, FRC687 The Nerd Herd, finished with a combined record of 21-10. The team seeded 3/54 and 7/44 respectively. As alliance captain, we managed to reach the finals and were awarded a wildcard bid for the championship. Go 687!!! (https://frc-events.firstinspires.org/2018/team/687 )
But we need your help! In 2017, we were invited off the waitlist for FRC Championship but were unable to attend due to lack of funds. We're raising money for air travel, ground transportation, lodging and meals for our team.
HELP US GET TO CHAMPIONSHIP!
For tax-deductible sponsorships please contact the CAMS FIRST Robotics Coach at [phone redacted] for more details. For donations of $500 or more, we can put your name or logo on our competition T-shirts and the robot.
A little about the FRC competition (taken from their website)
"Under strict rules, limited resources, and an intense six-week time limit, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship."
