HEALTH UPDATE 10/13/2024
(1 YEAR LATER!):
Hello everyone, We’ve reached the one year mark since Keith’s diagnosis of Stage 4 Colon & Liver Cancer. Thanks to the incredible support of our friends, family, and community, it’s been 365 days filled with countless doctor appointments, scans, and treatments. (His cancer is too advanced for surgery or radiation). We are trying to do bucket list moments together by traveling to favorite spots, celebrating holidays, and attending sporting events with loved ones. Monday will be Keith’s 25th round of high dose chemotherapy! Although it takes a serious toll on his body, we’re grateful to still be facing this challenge. His strength and determination continues to inspire us every day, and while we remain hopeful, we’re prepared to explore clinical trials at MD Anderson next if need be.
Words cannot express how much your generosity has meant to us. Your donations have been nothing short of a lifeline, covering Keith’s $9,700 annual deductibles for both 2023 and 2024, and the ability to purchase his supplies not covered by medical insurance. We will continue to focus on his health without the constant weight of financial stress. We are beyond grateful for every single one of you. Your support, love, and prayers have lifted us up during some of the darkest moments, and we could never thank you enough.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by our side on this journey. He’s still fighting, and with all of you behind us, our little family will never give up!
With all our love and deepest gratitude,
TeamHall
Ruth, Michelle, Melissa, & Keith

UPDATE 1/1/2024:
Happy New Year from Team Hall! We’re so happy to announce that for Christmas this year we received some amazing news from the Oncologist - 6 of 12 chemo cycles appear to be working! We know it cannot cure his stage 4 colon cancer, but we are hopeful the chemotherapy is going to help him be here with us longer than we could have hoped for when he went to ER in October. Your contributions have made it possible for our family to breathe a sigh of relief during endless appointments, procedures, surgeries, transfusions, medications, side effects, and trauma. Every bit has played a part in improving our family’s physical and mental well-being, and we are beyond grateful to all of you for your love and support during what is one of the most challenging years our family has ever faced. We still have a long road ahead of us and don’t know what 2024 will bring, but for the first time in a long time we are hopeful for the future! We will continue to update you as news is given to us over the next 6 months of treatments and (hopefully) many years to come.
Keith, Ruth, Michelle & Melissa send our love and forever thanks to our friends and family near and far for literally helping keep our beloved Papa alive and thriving. From the bottom of our hearts, we love you. Hope your holidays were filled with love and wishing all of us a better 2024!

This go fund me is created on behalf of Keith and Ruth Hall - two people who’ve been given their share of unexpected bad news this year. They would never ask this for themselves, but now need the help of others more then ever.
The Hall Family has suffered yet another devastating blow in October with the sudden news of Keith’s stage 4 colon cancer that metastasized into his liver & lymph nodes. This was a complete shock as he’s never been sick in his life. Keith is the rock of Team Hall, spending the last 6 months caring for his sweetheart Ruth, while she battled the sudden onslaught of total congestive heart failure in March from chemotherapy (also unexpected). This is not the first time the Hall family has had to battle cancer - Ruth is a 2x cancer survivor of Stage 3 breast cancer, has a brain tumor & Ménière’s Disease.
The Hall Family has always supported themselves, working while battling cancer and fighting to make happy memories together in the face of crisis, but this is beyond anything anyone could have predicted. Their hospital & chemo bills are already adding up even with insurance. Ruth was forced into early retirement during Covid 2020 and lives off disability, which means Keith has been their primary source of income for the family these past three years. He of course can no longer work, and although they’ve applied for some financial help, it will not pay the out of pocket costs for emergency chemotherapy treatments, iron infusions, blood transfusions, emergency surgeries, in-patient hospital care, MRI, CT Scans, ongoing chemo treatments and so many other unpredictable expenses for in home healthcare.
Any contribution you can give to Team Hall to help alleviate the insane financial burdens suddenly bestowed on them, to relieve some stress that they may get even one good night’s sleep this month, and give them a fighting chance - any and every little bit helps.
The Hall Family - Keith, Ruth, Michelle & Melissa - and all of their friends and extended family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will continue to update this page as the family fights the good fight to hopefully beat cancer a 3rd time!!!
