Help Team Rempel Get to Nationals

Over the Christmas break, Team Rempel traveled to Victoria, BC to compete in the U18 BC Girls Curling Provincials. While the youngest in their division, this talented team quickly won the respect of their fellow competitors moving through to the finals and securing qualification to the Canadian National U18's happening in Ottawa February 5 - 10.
Funding to travel to Ottawa is limited and while the team has worked hard to host several fundraising events, they still need help to pay for hotel, food and transportation while at the event.
It takes a village to raise a child and the City of Kelowna (and beyond) to get this team to Nationals!
Meet the Team:
SKIP Megan Rempel: Gold at BCWG 2020, silver at BCWG 2023 and member of 2023 Canada WG Team are some highlights of Megan’s nine-years in curling. Megan brings mad skills to the sheet and rock solid leadership. “She is aways calm and quietly leading, she keeps us on track,” says teammate Teagan Le Poole. She curls out of the Kelowna Curling Club.
THIRD Parker Rempel: “Whether we are winning or losing a game, or just hanging out, we are always having fun and making jokes together,” says Parker who has won multiple Junior Spiels, silver at BCWG and competed at High School Provincials. She curls out of the Kelowna Curling Club.
SECOND Gwyneth Jones: Known for being a sweet, gentle soul and a killer competitor, Gwyneth was named the Best Girl Curler in 2022 at Kelowna Curling Club and also won the Hit, Draw, Tap competition at the Scotties. “I got a BC broom for that one!” She curls out of the Kelowna Curling Club.
FIRST Ella Walker: This curler can sweep! Ella is considered “a beast with the broom.” She was named a Rising Star at the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, has two second place finishes at the Summerland Junior Bonspiel and was the youngest member of the BCWG Silver medal team. She curls out of the Penticton Curling Club.
HEAD COACH Wendy Cseke: With a bronze medal at 2015 Senior Championships, gold at 2018 Canadian 55+ Games, and coach of Team BC at the 2023 Canada Games, Wendy brings a wealth of experience. “Curling is easy to learn—hard to master. A lifetime sport that is fascinating for spectators and players.”
CO-COACH Brian Lyall: Brian is a Competition Coach based out of the Kelowna Curling club where he is a board member and Coordinator for the Junior Program in Kelowna. He previously coached Team Rempel to their Silver Medal at the BC Winter Games. He will be travelling with the team as Lead Coach in Ottawa.
ASSISTANT COACH Greg Rempel: Greg has played a supporting role in the development of several young curlers over the last seven years. This includes guiding his two daughters to gold in the 8th end of a tied game at the 2020 BCWG. “What I love about curling is how players and teams interact, the sense of community, and seeing first hand how the development of skills and effort reflect on how the rocks play. This team is a successful, supportive, fun-loving group.”
