Help Teasha & Her Kids Find Safety after Her Partner's Death

Donation protected
On Saturday night, after celebrating her daughter's 13th birthday, Teasha's domestic partner shot himself in the head, on the couple's bed. Teasha and her girls need our help now. We need to raise $9,000 to get them to a safe place where they can heal.

They need funds RIGHT NOW.

Teasha and her 7-year-old daughter were in the house at the time. And, they are still stuck there, in that house, Teasha still sleeping in the room where it happened, because they don't have the funds to stay anywhere else. They are currently grieving and working through PTSD from the severely traumatic incident. Let's help them by funding their needs while they recover emotionally and mentally.

Her partner had been the girls' main financial support after they had relocated to live with him just a few months ago following a series of unfortunate events that left them homeless. That unexpected move drained Teasha's finances, and she hadn't yet regained her financial footing following that move. Her partner had been their main source of support, but in the last few weeks, he had become increasingly violent and unstable. When he took his life, he left them with nothing: no funds whatsoever, no access to the couple's finances (which were all his anyway), and rent due by November 1 with no way to pay it and no way to pay to move. Worst of all, no funds to hire a cleaning company to handle the biohazard left in the bedroom. So, Teasha, being the strong woman she is, cleaned it up with her own hands. Teasha and her girls are going through the unimaginable, and they need us now.

She needs time, space, and distance to properly grieve the loss of the man she loved and shouldn't have to worry about things like gas money, rent, and cleaning up the aftermath of this tragedy with her own hands. That is a testament to her strength. But no one is a superhero, and everyone needs help sometimes. That time is right now for Teasha.

They need to be out before October 31, so they need funds ASAP to make that happen.

She also needs a decent phone, as all phones in the house were confiscated by the police with no prospect of being returned anytime soon (which is policy in these sorts of tragedies). Without her phone (and with no computer), she is not able to get into any of her accounts to communicate in her normal ways and is working on re-establishing these things.

Teasha and the girls shouldn't have to worry about getting the funds to get to a safe place and to relocate right now; they need to focus on healing and finding a safe place away from where this travesty happened, and rebuilding.

They need $6,000 to get a truck to move their belongings. And they need funds for an inexpensive smartphone, as well as incidentals to move such as gas and other necessities. We are trying to raise $9,000 for these purposes.

Please contribute what you can, even if it’s just $5. And please share this post, even if you can’t contribute financially.
