I am a proud Jamaican international student pursuing a degree in Accounting at the prestigious University of the District of Columbia in the United States! As I write to you today, I am filled with a deep aspiration to achieve my dreams of securing a successful career in the field of Accounting. However, I find myself faced with financial difficulties that threaten to derail my academic journey. I left Jamaica with the hopes of gaining access to paid internships and scholarships that would help fund my education.
Unfortunately, I encountered unforeseen international requirements and red tape that have limited my access to these opportunities. Despite this, I have worked tirelessly for the past nine months to pay my rent and take care of my basic needs. During the fall semester, I received additional aid from my school to cover my tuition, but regrettably, the school is unable to do so this semester.
I had hoped to pay off this semester's tuition by taking on an internship at the renowned Deloitte Accounting firm. However, I am unable to commence my internship until I pay off my outstanding balance of $6386 dollars. I am earnestly seeking any form of assistance that you could offer to help me lower this cost, so that I may continue my studies and undertake my desired internship
I have already secured my tuition for the forthcoming semesters by serving in the esteemed position of treasurer on the student government board. Nevertheless, my academic goals remain in jeopardy if I am unable to settle my current balance. I have sought the assistance of every official I can reach at the University, and now I am turning to you for help.
