Help Tempest Move Cross-Country From Oregon to Ohio
Donation protected
In 2024 I experienced a series of life-upending events that led me to the decision to move away from Portland, OR, where I've been living the last six years, back to my hometown in Ohio. One of the aforementioned events was the passing of my aunt, who was and is very dear to me.
She left me join ownership (with another beloved aunt) of a house that first belonged to my grandparents. Since that house has no mortgage, and staying in Portland was becoming increasingly untenable, the best choice for me financially and emotionally/mental health-wise was to move back to Ohio.
This plan has been in the works for months, but several things have gotten in the way of me saving up enough money for the move. (Like I said, life-upending events) And I still don't have access to funds from my aunt that would have helped to cover the movers.
I found out recently that I'm not getting a payment I was promised for several months, and I have to pay the movers so I can be out by March 31 when my lease ends. As much as I don't want to do this, I'm asking friends for help to pay for this move.
I found a reputable mover that has good reviews, was recommended by a friend, and will not pull shady stuff like asking for more money at the endpoint. I'm only taking about a studio apartment's worth of stuff -- things I cannot easily replace or that can't be replaced at all. Still, because the move is from Oregon to Ohio, it still costs over $4,000.
If you can help by donating, by sharing, by spreading the word via email, phone calls, psychic messages, or any other method available to you, I would greatly appreciate it.
