Help Teresa and Dave during this devastating time

Our good Friends, The York Family needs our help. This beautiful couple has been together for 27 years. In sickness and health now has a new meaning for them and their 4 children. It is with humble hearts, we ask you for your help for Dave and Teresa who are both facing medical challenges.

Dave had a heart attack and soon after was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm as well as a congenital heart condition called Bicuspid Aortic Valve Disease. This led him and his family on a long journey of medical tests and procedures, wait times, surgery cancellations and delays. Dave had his open-heart surgery on Feb 7 where he had a mechanical valve replacement, an aorta replacement and a double bypass. Immediately after surgery he experienced acute kidney injury and he spent a week on kidney dialysis. Soon after, he developed a chest infection and he had to experience a second open heart surgery. He is still in acute care at home and his recovery is a long and slow process. During this time he

has been unable to work and provide for his family. In December, the family was given notice to move out of their rental home and by the end of February Teresa had to transition to their new home all the while Dave was in the hospital.

In early March, Teresa was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. This is shocking and devastating news to the whole Family. She will be undergoing surgery at the Kelowna Cancer Clinic. With the aftermath of her

surgery and treatment and Dave's heart surgery, the next several months will be challenging with the extreme cost of living these days. Dave's recovery has been dramatically extended and now Teresa will

have to take time off work as well for her recovery. Their days have been filled with emergency room visits, medications, antibiotics and dr appointments.

As we mentioned-they need our help. It's up to us to come together for them, so I'm reaching out to all of you-family, friends, acquaintances.. or anyone with a big heart who just wants to help. We don't take

this ask lightly and please know that we deeply appreciate each and everyone of you for any bit of help you can offer this Family of 6
