Help Us Protect and Ohio’s Natural Waterways with Terrabuffer

Hi everyone! We’re Blake and Zoë, and we're small business owners teaming up with farmers, landowners, and conservation advocates across Ohio to tackle water pollution in Lake Erie. Our business started from a small business competition at Ohio Wesleyan University, our alma mater, and has only grown from there!

Our services will include planting native plants, grassed waterways, and riparian buffer strips—permanent stands of vegetation that prevent riverbank erosion, reduce agricultural runoff, and reduce pollution. By doing this, we hope to improve water and soil quality, protect local wildlife, and enhance Ohio's natural landscapes.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: Protect Ohio’s natural waterways and increase native flora populations. We will do this by planting native plants on farms and properties in Sandusky County. Native plants are resilient, beautiful, and essential to our local ecosystems. Not only do they improve soil quality, but they also help protect local water sources from harmful pollutants, like herbicides and pesticides —all while enhancing the natural landscape we call home. We want to protect them at all costs and install them on farms and cropland across Sandusky County.

We Need Your Help

We have poured countless hours into designing our business and forging partnerships with conservation advocates across Ohio, but starting and expanding our business requires more financial resources than we are able to give it. Your donation will help us:

Restore and protect: Fund the planting of native plants, grassed waterways, riparian buffer strips, and other vital conservation services
Educate the community: Provide educational workshops and materials on the importance of native plants and conservation
Create and maintain partnerships: Collaborate with schools, small businesses, and public organizations to foster a culture of environmental sustainability
Expand our reach: Work with more small farmers and landowners to plant native vegetation
