Help Terrance Avoid Eviction
Donation protected
Last Spring, Terrance Freeman, a security guard contracted by DePaul University, was reportedly reassigned to an off-campus position for "being too friendly with Palestinian students." After these claims became public, Guardian Security reduced his hours to just two days per week. As a result of this clear act of employer retaliation, Terrance is now at risk of eviction.
All funds will go directly toward covering his overdue rent to prevent eviction, as well as essential daily needs like groceries. Terrance deserves to live with dignity, not in constant fear of being evicted. He sacrificed his job for the sake of students' safety and for standing up for what is right. Terrance was reprimanded because he refused to comply with DePaul's alleged directives to discriminate against supporters of Palestine. Please consider donating to show gratitude for his courage in refusing to be complicit in these injustices.
A statement from Terrance (watch his speech here):
"Greetings to all of you. I'm Terrance Freeman and I'm reaching out to you 2day cause ever since I was removed from campus, my hours have been tremendously decreased within my company, which is Guardian Security.
I'm only working 2 days 8 hours on Sunday and Saturday and only 2 part time days Monday and Tuesday, however I know my company is doing it out of retaliation and it has ultimately put me in a bind in terms of being able to pay my rent to my landlord on time.
It's sadly gotten to the point that I'm now being threatened with eviction and not to mention my other bills are behind such as my internet bill, phone etc so if possible please assist me through this trivial process, it's hard for me to really ask for help cause it's embarrassing but I walk by faith and not by sight so I'm trusting in the creator at this point will touch ya'll hearts to help me get past this and I'm currently looking for another Security Job that has full time hours for me so I can at least get back to somewhat of a normal life.
So thanks in advance to you and also whoever else donates to my GoFundMe account my brother John Gould will be in charge of the account and If there's any questions you may have feel free to ask him how you can help.
Thanks again..."
