Help Terri Meyers fight Lymphoma
Donation protected
We start this page to help our good friend and dog show handler, Terri Meyers, with mounting medical expenses as she starts her life-threatening battle against Lymphoma.
Terri was recently diagnosed with stage 3 Diffuse B cell Lymphoma after suffering severe back pain during a show weekend. Expecting to find nerve or disc issues, they found a mass instead during her CT scan. Her medical bills are already skyrocketing close to $20,000 in just what insurance will not cover, including basic pain medication, and there is still a long road ahead of treatment, tests, and more medical bills. Due to severe nerve pain in her spine and additional symptoms from the lymphoma, she is currently unable to show dogs, which is her sole source of income as a handler. As many of you know, not being able to show dogs is very difficult for Terri, as is staying home to concentrate on herself above and beyond the dogs and her family and friends!
Terri has been involved in the sport of purebred dogs, from a young age, as a breeder, owner, and professional handler, and is most well known for poodles. She is a member of the Poodle Club of America and is their grooming set up chairperson, and is President of the Twin Cities Poodle Club. She has always been willing to help her family, friends, and fellow dog show exhibitors and handlers, and has been a mentor to many of you as well. She has embraced many junior handlers, both teaching and encouraging their involvement in our great passion for dogs.
We are hoping that our friends, vast dog show family, and poodle community that she has cared for so deeply throughout the years, will now return that love and help Terri by donating, so she does not have to constantly worry about mounting medical expenses. This will enable her to concentrate on fighting an defeating this disease throughout her upcoming months of treatment.
As an important side note, Terri is a very private person and has been reluctant to share her diagnosis. She didn't want to "bother" people with her battle with lymphoma, but with encouragement(Ok, I downright told her to quit being stubborn!) she has agreed to ask for this much needed help, and my hope is that everyone will rally around her and donate what they can to help our friend during this critical fight.
I ask that you please share this as far and wide as you can. We thank everyone for their donations and for their prayers. They are greatly appreciated!!
