Donation protected
Hi my name is Chip and I am asking that you help in any way support Terry and Kim in there battle. I will post below Kim's last post on where they are in the fight! Terry and Kim have continued to devote time and money to others in the 16 years that I have known them. I am hoping we can all repay them by helping in there time of need. We believe in the power of prayer and would ask for continued prayers for Terry and Kim.

I wanted to give everyone an update on Terry. He was hospitalized last week after he had a procedure on his liver that is now damaged because of years of chemotherapy, immunotherapy treatment and life. After the surgery his blood pressure was low and they couldn't get it up even with medication. After 2 days of fluids and meds they got it up to an acceptable level to go home. During this hospital stay he lost his ability to urinate. After 2 or 3 rounds of bladder scans and what nurses call 'in and out cath' to get relief they decided to put a permanent cath in until he could see urology. We tried to see urology while in the hospital but they refused to see him because that's an out patient problem. Even though he was right there in a hospital with every resource available to scan and test we have to wait 2 weeks for a urology appt. I tried every tactic I could think of to get urology to see him and was unsuccessful. With every obstacle we face we have to battle depression that tries to come over our mind. I must say this catheter caused me great anxiety. I asked for the hospital to place an order for home health and he was approved. That starts this week. They will help me with the bed sore he developed and also the catheter, thank you Lord!
We met several angels at CMC last week. Nurses can make or break your spirit and we had the best last week. One in particular was "Jen" who came in on dayshift after 3 expsresso shots. She stormed in flipped the light on and said good morning I'm your nurse today we are going to get you bathed and your sheets changed. I was in the recliner asleep and I sat straight up and said "well you just came in like a wrecking ball mylie Cyrus " and she started dancing! It was an interesting day with nurse Jen. Terry explained again he couldn't pee so she scanned and he had 800 units of urine. She called the Dr and they ordered the permanent catheter. She got the kit and got herself and Terry prepared for the cath insertion. She looked at Terry and said are you ready and he said hold on one minute and she stood up looked at him and he said are you mad at your husband and she said I don't have one and he said carry on. He can be so comical at the strangest times.
Terry is very malnourished and only weighs 163 pounds right now. He is so small and frail. I'm cooking and trying to keep his weight up but the only one gaining weight is myself and mom Linda S Franklin . He is drinking ensure and our sweet friend down at Midway Discount Grocery has made sure Terry has his favorite. ❤️
Tina Bailey Holt was with us on surgery day and we were glad to have her there with us. It gave us a chance to catch up and a distraction from the risky procedure. All of our kids were calling and checking in and we were grateful. Terry does roll call to see who has checked in, lol. He also has some of the best friends in the world. David Odell and Bill Nollenberger have called Terry every week for 7 years supporting him through this battle. Sometimes depending on what's happening they call more than once a week. We have been so touched by their support and love. It has really made me step back and evaluate myself and try to be a better person.
There are so many people I could mention in this post to thank and if you have shown us love during this battle with cancer please know we appreciate you. Every person that has prayed may God bless you. Our church that has prayed thank you. You may not realize how much it means and I need you to know it means alot. ❤️
Lastly I have to thank God for his strength because we would not be where we are today without him. Terry was given 2 years in 2017. Dr Schwartz (the best oncologist ever) used to say to Terry, " cats hate you". We have pushed through the lows of this cancer fight with the love and grace of God . During the lows and highs we've tried to enjoy our time here together to the fullest and always praise Jesus for being with us!
