Help Terry’s Widow for The Coming Months

Donation protected
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of beloved husband, father and brother, Terence Earl Robertson (known to all as ‘Terry’), on February 6, surrounded by his family. Terry was born and raised in Louisville. He attended St Xavier and Atherton High School, followed by answering the call to his country, to enlist in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Terry was stationed in Germany as a Radio Operator, and was previously married with one son, Thomas. Following his military service, he attended Watterson College, earning his bachelors degree. He went on to become a Manager, Data Analyst and Data Architect for AT&T for 30 years. Terry took an early retirement in 1999, and went into semi-retirement, doing contract jobs in his field of specialty for the next 10 years. In 2007, together with his wife, Laurie, they built and owned The Bridal Suite of Louisville. Their beautiful bridal boutique was a pillar in the community; annually providing gowns and tiaras for the Kentucky Derby Festival Fillies Derby Princess’s, along with dressing thousands of brides and their families for the next 17 years. His favorite pastimes included singing and playing on his guitars. He was known for his velvety, beautiful voice and incredible self-taught guitar playing. Terry loved to sing and play Roy Orbison, The Everly Brothers and The Drifters. While in high school, he had his own band, The Rising Suns, in which he was the lead singer, and would often fondly talk about their ‘win’ at the The Battle of The Bands. He loved playing fetch with his 3 black cats, Binky, Princess and Teddy, and loved cooking (and was pretty wonderful at it, too!!) Terry is survived by his loving wife, Laurie, of 29 years, a son Thomas, from a prior marriage, brothers Billy, David, and sisters Kathy, and Jan. He was preceded in death by mother, Mary Dorothy Garvey-Robertson, father O. Earl Robertson, sister Judy Johnson, and nephew Paul Robertson.
Terry was blessed to have lived close to his family, and have neighbors and friends who loved and cared for him. He will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at St Margaret Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, located at: 7813 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40222.
Visitation begins at 1:30, Mass with Military Honors at 2:30, and a Luncheon to follow, in which all are invited to share with Terry’s family at 3:30, in the church reception hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to this GoFundMe. As many know, Terry and Laurie’s Business suffered a devastating blow following the Covid lockdowns. Weddings were postponed, cancelled and rescheduled for years out, leaving the retail end of the spectrum to greatly suffer. All their worldly assets they poured into their business, in desperate attempts to save it, but to no avail, they lost everything to both business and personal bankruptcy. Terry subsequently suffered a number of strokes, heart attacks, and congestive heart failure. He fought hard this past year, with his wife by his side, but his body was tired…
In the coming months, there is *No Pension, *No IRA, nor 401k for Terry’s wife. Therefore, all proceeds donated here will help Laurie financially, with her most basic needs, through the next several months while she still awaits a decisions on her Disability Claim.
Thank you and God Bless.
