Help Tevita and his Family as he heals.

Hello, we are the family of Malta Maile (Tevitas wife)

We have started this Go fund me to help our sister Malta and their 6 young children as her husband Tevita was recently admitted to ICU incubated and heavily sedated.

Since day 2 of Tevitas hospitalisation he sadly ended up with a severe acute kidney injury which saw him needing dialysis, he also in this time developed pneumococcal pneumonia, ventilated, pneumothorax in both lungs needing chest tubes, pulmonary fibrosis and then needed a tracheostomy to help get air into his lungs. His lungs are severely scarred and cannot function on their own. Tevita has not been conscious for the last 3 weeks and each day the hospital calls his wife to tell her he won't make it after the trauma and scarring his organs have faced. Prior to this Tevita as you can see in the picture was a healthy, working man and is only 41 years of age.

Over the last couple days Tevita has made tremendous progress in his healing they were able to slowly reduce his sedation so he was able for the first time in 3 weeks to open his eyes again.

He also tried to wave to his wife when he heard her voice on a video call.

This news has brought us great hope and strength for the day he returns home to his wife and 6 children.

We know that Tevita will be unable to work and support his family as he has a long journey of healing ahead. We hope that we can raise some money for him, his wife and their kids to help take off the financial strain on bills and the reality of feeding and caring for 6 young kids.
