Help the 3 disabled Thabet brothers leave Gaza

Hi, my name is Katie Miranda, from Oregon, USA. I am fundraising for Ali, Bilal, and Hazem Thabet, three disabled brothers who are suffering greatly in Gaza.

Ehab Thabet, their cousin who resides in the West Bank, asked me to start a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the welfare of his cousins. I know Ehab because he was my calligraphy teacher when I lived in the West Bank.

This is their appeal:

We, Ali, Bilal, Hazem Thabet, suffer from a physical disability that medicine has classified as ataxia. Our only fault is that we live in Gaza, Palestine, a region suffering from continuous war. In October 2023, the most difficult war of all took place, which greatly affected our disability. We can not move quickly to take shelter. There is no electricity or water in the bombing, and the family gets it with great difficulty. The roads are not suitable, and the houses are destroyed, and it is difficult to move around with a wheelchair. We suffer from constant stress and difficulties sleeping due to the sound of strong explosions, fear, and the inability to eat. The family was displaced last January for a month in a truck covered with the house's torn curtain. We fled from cloth and nylon to Rafah due to the intensity of the bombing, even though the residential area was safe and not classified as a combat zone. The house was bombed 4 times. Our parents who are our caregivers will be accompanying us. We hope to relocate to Algeria or Turkey eventually.

The breakdown of the expenses are:

Travel expenses 30,000

Apartment rent allowance 5000

Home adjustments inside the house (a special chair for the bathroom, a handrail around the house and inside the bathroom 10,000

Special food and drink supplies for the disabled 5000

Internal transportation 5000

Treatments, wheelchairs, medical supplies, and physical therapy 25,000

We hope to go out of Gaza to a more liveable area.

The Egyptian side takes between $5000-7000 dollars per person as coordination fees for exiting Gaza.

I plan to send the money via Western Union or Money Gram.
