Help the Acord Family- Victims to a Drunk Driver

Maggie Acord and her young grandchildren were involved in a tragic accident in Montgomery County on Thursday, July 20th around 8 pm on their way home from their horse riding lesson, hauling their beloved horse Sassy. They were struck by a drunk driver driving the wrong way down Hwy 249 who was traveling approximately 100 mph. Maggie was able to swerve to keep him from hitting them head on but that was not enough, the drunk driver slammed the bed of her dually and in the process, he slammed through their horse trailer. He slammed the horse trailer so hard he managed to rip the trailer off of her truck and dragged it approximately the length of a football field. Maggie and her grandchildren had to witness the horrifying murder of their sweet Sassy. Sassy was not just a horse, she was a family member. The Acord Family raised Sassy since she was born. When her granddaughter Kennedy was old enough Sassy became her barrel horse. Sassy was just not some barrel horse, she was a 1D youth barrel horse. The team won many races together. They had just started a saddle series, a series they will never get to finish because of the selfishness of a single person. This accident will haunt this whole family forever. I can not imagine how they feel every day knowing they were almost killed and seeing their beloved Sassy ripped apart

There has been an outpouring of support from the entire community and a request to start a GofundMe to help with expenses. The Acord family are not only clients but great friends of mine and ALL these funds will be used for medical (therapy), Attorney fees, horse, trailer, and vehicle expenses.
