Help the Alafranji Family leave Gaza

I am Eloise from Birmingham, UK and I am fundraising on behalf of Sondos Alafranji, my Gazan friend of 10 years.

Sondos has written the below story to describe the misery her family is currently living during the war on Gaza:

I am Sondos Alafranji. I currently live in the UAE with my husband. On September 25, 2023, I decided to visit my family in Gaza. Ten days later, the war broke out. I lived the brutality of the war for four months with my one-year-old boy. I was struggling to secure him milk, food, and diapers. I stayed for hours and hours in queues in UN schools to get him his needs. Sometimes, I went back home with empty hands to find him waiting for me with a smile on his face while my heart was shattered into pieces. As UAE residents, my son and I were evacuated in February 2024. Below is a photo of where my son was playing when a house next to us was bombed, and the glass broke into pieces to hurt my son.

I left behind my family members- my 65-year-old dad, my 60-year-old mom, my elder sister with her husband and 4 kids, my elder brother with his wife and 2 kids, my youngest sister, and my youngest brother.

Below is a photo of the tent they are staying in right now, and another photo of them while setting fire to cook with the few resources they try to secure on daily basis.

My dad is a retired UN worker who served the society for 35 years, and who is struggling to provide for his family amidst this war where everything is getting crazily expensive, if available in the first place.

My mom is battling multiple chronic diseases and requires urgent medical attention. Her required medicine is not available in the city and her health condition is getting worse. Her legs are all blue and swollen due to diabetes.

My elder sister, whom you can see in the fundraiser's front page while fleeing her house that was bombed during the war, has four young children under 13, and they're facing dire circumstances after the father lost his job as a pharmacy company manager three months ago.

My elder brother has a disability (inability to walk) and he needs special care and special facilities that were all secured in our house that was cruelly destroyed during the war. Below is a photo of him sleeping on the floor in the nowhere when we were displaced for the first time in Al-Nuseirat.

We, therefore, urgently need your help to evacuate them from Gaza to a safer place through the Egyptian borders. The evacuation process goes through the Hala Agency that charges $5000 per 16+ person and $2500 per those who are under 16.
