Help Maysara´s family survive the terrible famine in Gaza!

Peace and blessings be upon you, kind people!

Thank you for visiting this page; it truly means a lot!

My name is Nilab, and I live in a town called Zwolle in the Netherlands. I started this campaign on behalf of my friend Maysara al-Ashaal and his family, who desperately need our help to survive the extreme famine in Gaza. His family has been displaced since October 7th, and they have had to suffer severe living conditions in order to survive. At first, they were entirely blocked off from the outside world, making it incredibly difficult to communicate with anyone outside of Gaza. One of the most deplorable situations was sleeping on the streets from one displacement to the next. Until there is a cease-fire, they are in a terribly unpredictable scenario, with the possibility of waking up to widespread bombing. Or being bombarded at any time of the day. Imagine living in such conditions every day; how horrible and difficult it must be.
They too once dreamed of having a bright future, but every ounce of happiness was taken away in an instant when the bombs fell. Israeli bombs completely destroyed his home, leaving him and his family bereft of everything they once cherished. They are currently living in the Deir al-Balah camp sleeping in tents under the unbearable scorching sun and lacking primary necessities such as food, water, clothes, hygiene materials, medicines, and safe living conditions.

Basic necessities are rather costly in these difficult times, thus they cannot purchase them without our assistance. Temporary relief will not be the primary focus of this campaign. Our objective is to provide them with the essentials and assist them in the process of re-establishing their lives.

As they need to start over, Maysara said something that truly saddened me, and I pray no human being says these words. He stated, 'Nilab, whether we die from terrible famine or bombing, we require unwavering assistance to ensure our survival, beginning with getting sufficient finances to keep my family from starving'. The main goal is to cover the basic necessities and medical fees for his grandfather, who suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes (diabetic feet with ulcers and fluids in his legs). His condition has worsened, and he is now unable to walk or stand. Unfortunately, medical help is limited due to overcrowded hospitals. It is also quite expensive to purchase medicines or other healthcare materials. Therefore, he hopes that by raising money through GoFundMe he can help out his sick grandfather too. He will use the remaining money to rebuild or improve his current residence in Gaza. Maysara is the family's eldest son, and he is willing to do everything in his power to ensure the safety of his family. Despite the immense suffering and extreme famine in Gaza he and his family are going through every day, Maysara has never lost hope and believes in surviving these horrific circumstances with the help of charitable people who are willing to donate and share their story. We can help him achieve his goal by making generous donations and spreading the word about this campaign. Every penny counts and can be a turning point in their lives.

Let us give them hope, help them rebuild their lives, and work towards a better future.

Maysara (1993) has 17 family members, which include adults: Alaa, Dina, Rama, Ramez, Rami, Ahmed, and Taghreed Al-Ashaal (respective years of birth: 1995, 1991, 2001, 2002, 2004, 1967, and 1976). In addition, there are three young children.

  • This is Maysara, his two children, and his grandfather.

  • Their previous loving home is now completely under rubble.

  • This is the tent where Maysara´s family lives.

  • The Deir al-Balah camp in Gaza is where they reside.

  • His grandfather's health is deteriorating by the day due to diabetes and ulcers.

The money that is required to cover necessities:

I would like to help this family get back on their feet. While food, water, and other necessities will provide temporary relief, assisting people in rebuilding their life is well worth the effort. Once the Israeli bombs have stopped, they will want funds to start again from scratch. Materials are expensive during these times, thus one must use whatever remaining funds to rebuild their life. If everything goes as planned for this 17-person family, I'll be able to help more families through my existing contacts with the al-Ashaal family.

  • Basic monthly necessities: 1500 euros, subject to fluctuations in war prices. On an annual basis, this will be 1500 x 12 = 18000 euro total costs. ( once every 3/4 weeks I will give updates on purchases. If the circumstances in Gaza allow it.

  • Note that until there is a truce, they will purchase emergency supplies to protect themselves from the coming harsh circumstances.

  • Note that the Israeli bombs have resulted in a catastrophic famine in Gaza. People pay exorbitant food prices. For example, one kilogram of potatoes costs approximately 32 euros (131 Israeli shekels, the currency used). These prices may vary based on the circumstances. However, these expenses are prohibitively expensive for people who have no other source of income and rely exclusively on donations to exist. It is not practical to feed 17 family members with one bag of potatoes. Furthermore, a lack of necessary nourishment increases the chance of sickness. They urgently require basic, nutritious meals to survive. With your generous gifts, you may save 17 people from starvation.

If you have any questions about this campaign, please feel free to send me a message. I will answer all of your questions on the same day or in a couple of days.

Your kind donations can save lives, so please give whatever you can to this kind and warm family. Rest assured that I will transfer every penny to Maysara's Western Union account. Because Maysara lives in a war zone, the most advantageous transfer method will depend on the specific circumstances. As of today, the most efficient way to receive money is through Western Union once a week. Normally, this process would take less time, but during a war, circumstances can change drastically. Western Union will now be the quickest route to transfer.

They cannot survive without our help, and Maysara's family's chances of survival are slim. You can support them by becoming a regular donor or donating whenever you have the opportunity.

The Al-Ashaal family thanks you from the bottom of their hearts.

Warm regards and blessings,

Nilab

Maysara´s story to the world:

Peace and blessings be upon you!

I am Maysara Al-Ashaal. I live in Gaza. We used to live safely in our home and had wonderful days that included all the necessities of life and a lot of comfort in the warmth of the family. I worked in the field of refrigerators and air conditioners to provide for my family. But in a matter of moments, the 7th of October war erupted, bringing with it a horror that snatched away my home, my comfort, and the warmth of my family. Displaced, we took to the roads as the sky showered us with various forms of destruction. Explosions and shells accompanied us until we arrived at a shelter at a school in Nuseirat. Similarly, we temporarily relocated to Rafah, repeating the process until we arrived at Deir al-Balah. We experienced homelessness in a tent that didn't protect us from heat or cold and wasn't built for living. I kindly request that you spread our story; please help us restore our lives.

My family needs your assistance; you can restore light to our lives. Please donate to help us survive the war. Keep supporting us in this cause, and may God bless you for your efforts.

With love and appreciation from the Al-Ashaal family.
