Emergency Appeal to Evacuate Gaza

Hello,

My name is Mohamed Al-Ghareib, I live in Canada with my wife, kids and grandchildren. I have many family members living in Gaza. Since October 2023, their situation has been extremely difficult and dangerous. We have lost members of our extended family, relatives and friends. Their struggle continues with the situation worsening each day.

With my brother Naeem and his family (his wife, Hiyam, and two daughters, Eman and Yasmine), we are raising emergency funds to help them survive and prepare for life outside of Gaza. The cost of food and goods has increased by 500% on average, if they are lucky enough to find items to purchase. The lack of food, clean water, electricity, and medication has made Gaza unliveable. The funds we hope to raise will help them cover essential costs of living and for their departure from Gaza (to Egypt), when the earliest opportunity arises.

It is not in a Palestinian’s nature to ask for donations or charity, as we are a proud and resilient people, but the situation has become dire and we are left with very limited options to help.

Here is a message from my niece, Yasmine:

“I am Yasmin Al-Ghareeb, 23 Years old. I have a Diploma in Medical Analysis. My father Naeem, 57 Years old has a Bachelor in Nursing and Master degree in Public Health. My mother Hiyam, 52 years old, is a homemaker and my sister Eman 26 years old has a bachelor in Health Management.

Our life before the genocide which we live in was stable, full of happiness, planning for the future. Our life was an ordinary peaceful life with a lot of hope, living our life, eating what we want and going to places we love, have water and electricity most of the time.

In this circumstances which we live really I forget the sweet thing I love, even I can’t remember it. Our life is stopped right now, we're focusing on our safety and to save our lives.

The siege in Gaza began in 2006 until now, but the worst one is the siege we live now. Not enough clean water to drink, or even water to wash, lack of medications and loss of health care, a lot of houses has been destroyed.

The most important hope, that this crazy war will end and we are still alive, then searching and finding a safe place to live in.”

Our relatives in Gaza had good, decent lives. They had hopes and dreams, cared for their families and are people who love life, just like the rest of us.

We are hoping to help them any way we can. Thank you.
