Help the Andrews Family After the Eaton Fire

Hi there,

No one ever thinks they’ll be the one asking for help, and my heart goes out to every other family who’s had to do this. Today, I’m asking for help for my sister Staci and her family, who have been displaced by the Eaton Fire.

If you know Staci and her family, you know how much they’ve poured into this community over the years. If you don’t, let me share a little bit about them.

Staci and her family have lived in Altadena for over 50 years. Generations of our family grew up in a place they’ve now been forced to leave. Staci is Altadena through and through—she graduated from John Muir High, went off to Howard University, and then came back to serve the community she loves. She’s spent her career teaching kindergarten and first grade, first at Franklin Elementary (which was also lost in the fire) and now in LAUSD. She’s dedicated herself to programs like the Black Student Achievement Plan and continues to work with the Windsor Hills community to uplift and empower others.

Her husband, Thomas, has been a constant presence in Altadena, working here for over 25 years. From his time at All Star to his work in food services for Pasadena Unified, he’s always been someone who shows up for others—making sure kids in this area are cared for, including his own.

Together, Staci and Thomas raised four boys, all of whom went to Altadena schools. This community isn’t just where they live; it’s part of who they are. They’re devoted Muir Mustangs who are determined to keep the spirit of Altadena alive.

They’ve given so much to this community, and I know they’ll keep giving—but they can’t do it alone. If you can, please donate to help them get back on their feet. No amount is too small, and every little bit will make a difference.
