Help the Arandas family evacuate Gaza

Hi, my name is Rita - I'm a Lebanese American living in Beirut and I'm fundraising for my friend Majd's family to evacuate Gaza.

Majd was killed on November 1 and I don't want his family to go through more tragedies. I've been in touch with his younger brother Moayed and this is what I can tell you about their family:

Their father, Fadl Arandas, had heart surgery in September. Since the bombardment, Fadl hasn't been able to get his medications or see a doctor as the hospitals are overwhelmed with injuries. He suffers without complaining but family can see that he's tired a lot. Their mother, Amal, has diabetes and medication is also not obtainable. Amal also suffers from a herniated disk. In the past, she would go to Egypt to see a specialist to ease her pain but that is no longer accessible. They lost their son, were displaced, and now dealing with the daily bombardment. Upon returning to their home in Nuseirat, after being displaced in Rafah, they found that they have no water, no electricity, no food available.

The grandparents' home, close by, was also destroyed due to a nearby bombing. The neighborhood has recently been attacked by poison gas bombs, smoke bombs, and the internationally banned white phosphorus bombs.

Last week when I received voicenotes from Moayed, I heard the sound of drones, which has sadly become the norm, but suddenly it was the sound of targeted attacks so close to their home. The family needs to get out of Gaza as soon as possible and we need to raise the funds to help make that happen until it is safe for them to return.

The breakdown of funds:

100% of all money raised will go to the Arandas family. The full amount will be transferred to a trusted relative in Egypt who will assist in the evacuation from the Egypt side.

It costs about $5,000-$6000 per adult to cross the border into Egypt.

We hope to surpass the fundraiser to help cover GoFundMe fees and international transfer fees and taxes. All additional funds will go to interim travel expenses such as food and a temporary rental in Egypt.
