Help the Armentrout Family Heal
Donation protected
I am writing this in support of my sister and brother in law. My sister met Andrew a few years ago now, at Buskey Cider in Richmond on New Year's Eve. Right when they met, it became obvious that this was something special. Prior to this, Andrew had been diagnosed with heart failure of unknown origin and Celiac Disease and had an AICD placed. Kim and Andrew got married in September 2019 and had their son, Elliot, in April 2021. Over the last few years, Andrew's heart condition has slowly declined, and especially in the last 6-12 months. Over the last 2 or so years, Andrew's heart conditions has advanced, making it difficult for him to exercise and live a normal life. On 2/15/2023, Andrew was admitted for Inotropes (special medications to try to help support his heart), but unfortunately, he will require ICU hospitalization until transplantation due to the critical condition of his heart. This has been in the works for the last several years and VCU has provided only the best care, and we have finally reached a point that Andrew needs a heart transplant.
Easier said than done, right? Andrew will require AT LEAST 4-6 (possibly more) intensive care unit inpatient stay while we patiently wait for a heart that meets criteria that his body requires.
This GoFundMe has been initiated to help support Kim, Andrew and Elliot as they begin their journey through the transplant process and to help support their family every step of the way. We cannot thank you enough for any and all support. If you wish to provide a meal train or a child care train, please reach out to Kimberly Armentrout. We thank you so much for supporting the Armentrout family during this time of growing.
