Hello and Aloha, Our Galleries and warehouse which was artist owned were burned to ash in the wild fires of Lahaina. Employees ran for their lives to escape the fire as did two of the artists who were lucky to get out of the fire with their life. One employee lost two homes and everything in them, but she and her boys survived. Our shipper was lucky he had a van he was using from another gallery which saved his life in getting out of town. Davo lost his house and escaped with only the clothes on his back, losing hundreds of his paintings. Mele had a rough time watching the devastation and knew she would have been there earlier and would have been trapped on front street and could not run because of her injuries to her legs. The Gallery had no fire insurance because of covid, having to pay all our bills for 9 months and being forced to close. We could not afford tsunami and fire insurance, which were outrageously expensive. We put everything back into the galleries spent 90k on the 2nd gallery to be open by Christmas. over a million in art were burn, Erte originals and sculptures, Peter Max originals and rare and classic limited editions, Original Davo’s, Andreas Nottembohms which we had just hung up just previous days before the fire. Original Csaba Markus and many limited edition. Sam Park original and prints, Christian Lassen originals ,limited editions, and sculptures, Ting Shao Kaung limited editions, Byron Galvez original and prints . Originals by Shree, Bogalo the no fear artist and graphic artist, just getting ready to hang the work of Lawrence the sports memorabilia, and sports art, and celebrity art for the artist C A B, and last but not least the glass artist Navarro. Most of the employees are not receiving money yet and have lost their homes the are renting. some had to move to other states temporarily. One employee doesn’t have enough for rent let alone food. We worked had giving art to many charities and fundraisers to help from breast cancer to Sacred Heart school‘s to the Grammys to anything that we believed in that would help humanity and giving back on the island- and then came the fire so if you please have any ability to help us out, we’d like to divide the money up to help people so that they can keep their homes have some gas money until some of this gets settled which they say is gonna take two years because it’s the electric company, but whatever you can do if you can do it I’d greatly appreciate it. We want the money to be divided up between all the employees and artist who struggle now even more when paintings they have worked months on are gone -now they are ashes. I am one of the artists who lost 600,00 dollars worth of paintings and more counting the prints i have lost I am CAB THE ARTIST. please help my employees, they make us the most talked about and loved gallery in Maui , Kirk is making some great pre FIRE image.
So please give as much as you can, we will appreciate anything thank you very much and God Bless you
