Help the Astal family pay for border crossings, flights, and surgery to escape Gaza.

‏I am Majid Al-Astal, a farmer, and I have my own project. This campaign is one of the things that life forced us to do. We had a homeland, a life, dreams, and a project.

The accursed occupation destroyed everything we owned. The harvest of a lifetime was gone in the blink of an eye. We are a family of 12 people. We have a house with two floors: a family floor and a floor where the married son lives. We were supposed to complete the construction of the third floor.

Before the occupation turned everything into ashes, before the 7th of October, I sold a truck consisting of two vehicles and a private land in order to establish the project of a lifetime that will guarantee the rest of my life, secure the lives of my children, and provide them with a decent life. It cost me more than $150,000, which is a huge refrigerator to store vegetables. I planted 10,000 square meters of land with potatoes, which the occupation bulldozed and destroyed the entire crop during the war.

‏I have 3 sons of marriageable age. This project was the future of the whole family, and it required many years of my life. I spent more time outside the home than the time I spent with my family. During the planting seasons, I would also be absent for days in order to guard the crop. All this effort resulted in the loss of my retina. I underwent a retinal implant surgery for $2000, and another operation must be performed to complete the previous operation, otherwise I will lose my eye. The occupation destroyed the entire project and burned the house with all the floors. We also had a small room containing electrical equipment for my son, who works in electricity.

‏Now we live in oppressive conditions, with no potable water, tents that do not protect humans from the cold, and a difficult living situation that is not suitable for animals. We have children without milk, diapers, or clothes that suit their changing ages. We suffer from the harshest conditions of life.

I hope that those with compassionate hearts will help me and my family leave Gaza and start a decent life and saving my eyes and the lives of my family.

I want to evacuate my family from Gaza and that will cost one person $5000 to cross through Rafah crossing and $2500 per child. There is me, my wife, and my children: Muhammad (32), Ibrahim (28), Salah (24), Ahmed (22), Mahmoud (17), Ziad (15) and my little daughter Lamar (9). There is also my daughter-in-law with two children: Majid (5) and Aser (<1). The cost of getting everyone out is $50,000. I want them to arrive in Turkey to start a new life, but that costs a lot and they need to reach a country that grants residency other than Egypt, because Egypt does not give residency. On this residence a visa is issued Turkey and the country they can go to is Libya And they need to cover their expenses in Egypt from clothes, house, food and the papers they need to complete all the procedures and cover the costs of airport reservations.

Arriving to Egypt and then staying there until completing the required papers then going to Libya to obtain residency and then on this residence a visa is applied for Turkey "Turkey currently does not accept visas without the presence of residence on the passport" so they have to go first to Libya.

During our time in Egypt, l will also have the surgery.

My family needs $100,000 to start a new life.
