On January 19, 2022, Gordon Bailey was on his way to work in the morning, driving down Hwy 30. It started off as a normal day just like any other. He was heading west from Valparaiso and was stopped at a red light when his whole world changed.

Gordon was struck from behind while stopped at a red light, and somehow ended up in the back seat. Conscious throughout the crash, he knew he was injured but had no idea to what extent. Gordon was airlifted to a hospital in Illinois and underwent emergency surgery on his spine. As the days went on, Gordon learned the heartbreaking news of how severe his injuries were.

After three long months of being in the hospital and a rehabilitation center, Gordon was finally able to come home. His wife, Meaghan, has been a strong and loving spouse and endured the loss of her mother just days after Gordon’s crash. Meaghan has been truly amazing and is the epitome of a devoted spouse.

To say this year has been difficult for the Bailey family would be a gross understatement. It’s been grueling. And, yet, they have a positive outlook and find joy in every day. They are thankful Gordon survived the crash and grateful he is able to be a part of their lives. However, they have constant challenges and stress that come with the reality of their situation.

What happened to Gordon could happen to anyone. He is making the best of things, but he and his family could use your help. Gordon, his wife, Meaghan, and their two sons have been thrown into a tough situation and are in need of love, prayers, and financial support.

As a quadriplegic there are many needs Gordon has not only with medical expenses but day-to-day life for him and his family. He can no longer work and requires 24-hour medical care. Additionally, modifications to their home will need to be made to make it livable for Gordon. They also needed to purchase a wheelchair-accessible minivan for traveling to therapy and doctor’s appointments as well as daily life transportation. The Bailey family has been through a great deal, and your gift – of any amount – will help and make a difference in their lives.

I’ve been close friends with Gordon for more than 20 years and can tell you that he and his family appreciate every prayer and gift made. They are incredibly grateful for the many friends and family members who have provided meals, run errands, or come to visit. And now, we have a way to provide financial contributions to help them as they find their way.
