Help the Ballards battle cancer-no 1 fights alone

Donation protected
In the summer of 2022, the Ballard family learned the devastating news that Dustin who is a combat veteran, police officer, and father of 6 children, had stage 4 colon cancer.

Family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers rallied to help love and support the Ballard family as they battled Dustin’s cancer. Difficult months filled with surgeries and chemo ensued. Just recently, Dustin’s latest CT scan showed clear, and we all breathed a sigh of relief.

Then two weeks ago their youngest son, little Mack, who is 2 years old, started walking funny. After several medical visits, Kim felt she should take him to the hospital... To our devastation, the emergency visit confirmed our biggest fear – a brain tumor was causing the imbalance in his walk. Mack was quickly admitted and scheduled for surgery to remove the tumor as it was causing pressure and shifting in the brain. It was unknown at that time if the tumor was cancerous, and a biopsy was sent to determine its source. Again, the Ballard’s family and friends have come together to fast, pray, and support the Ballards as we all waited for the result of the biopsy. Monday, August 14th we received the news that the tumor found in little Mack’s brain is a rare and aggressive cancer.

Still reeling from the devastating news of his son, that same morning Dustin’s condition worsened, leading to him being admitted to the hospital because of serious bleeding, blood clots in his lungs, and new tumors in his liver and lungs.

Throughout all of this, Kim and Dustin have pushed forward with faith, praying for miracles.

While all that they have asked for is prayers and love we know that there is a great deal of financial stress that comes along with these challenges including medical bills. Little Mack will be living in Primary Children’s Hospital for the next 6 months while he receives chemo and bone marrow transplants. At the same time, Dustin will have to again fight the cancer that has spread in his body.

This go-fund-me was set up for those who love the Ballards or have compassion for their circumstance. It is intended to lighten one of the many loads their family is currently carrying.

God bless you for any help or support you can provide.
