Support the Bañuelos Family After Loss
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and community,
My name is Rocio Wyldeflower Contreras, I live and grew up here in Altadena/Pasadena. I grew up with the Bañuelos family and Haydee is one of my best friends.
I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for the Bañuelos family, who are facing a devastating situation following the Eaton Fires. While their home is still standing, the dangerous smoke and ongoing mandatory evacuation orders have made it impossible for Haydee Bañuelos, her children, her sister Timma, and their 73-year-old father to return. They have been displaced and are now struggling to find a safe place to live.
Haydee is one of the kindest, most generous people I know. My best friend since high school. She’s been a tireless support for everyone around her, and now she and her family need our help. I’ve known Timma since I was 14, we worked together for almost a decade at Cornerstone. Their parents like mine bought their houses years ago through service work, working tirelessly for over three decades.
As a close friend, I’m asking for your help in making sure they have the resources they need to get through this challenging time.
Though their home is still physically intact, the air quality is too hazardous for them to return, and they are unable to live there until the evacuation is lifted. With no timeline on when they’ll be able to go back, they need to secure temporary housing, cover emergency costs, and rebuild some of what they’ve lost in the chaos of evacuation.
Your support will go directly to helping the Bañuelos family:
•Securing a safe place for them to stay until they can return home
•Covering moving costs, essentials, and necessary supplies for the family
•Helping Haydee’s 73-year-old father, who is at a higher risk due to the smoke, find a place where he can recover in safety
•Providing much-needed emotional and financial support during this uncertain time
Every contribution—no matter the size—will help them through this difficult situation. If you’ve been touched by Haydee’s, Timma, Don Lupe’s generosity or if you believe in the power of community, this is a way to give back to a family that has always given so much to others.
Haydee, her 4 children, her sister Timma, their father, and her family are resilient and strong, but they need our help to get through this tough moment. This is a chance for all of us to come together, show our love and support, and help them get back on their feet.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network. The more people we can reach, the faster we can get the Bañuelos family the support they need.
Thank you for your generosity, care, and kindness. Your help will make a world of difference in their journey to safety and recovery.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Rocio Wyldeflower Contreras
