Support the Bardawil family in Gaza and Egypt
Donation protected
***Update – October 2024***
With Ahmad’s parents and sister, as well as two more sisters and their families, safely in Egypt, and most of his family still in Gaza, we are now raising additional funds to support the entire family, which includes 11 adults and 12 children, in both Gaza and Egypt. Sadly the war is still ongoing, and these funds are required to sustain the family and to allow Ahmad to continue supporting them.
We are raising an additional total of $74,000 ($26,100 was raised in February and used to evacuate Ahmad’s parents and sister and to cover some of their expenses). This amount will cover the family’s expenses for January - June 2025.
We are aware that this is a high amount to ask for; however, this is a result of the high prices in Gaza and the transfer fees, as well as of the size of the family and the long duration of the war (the funds we have raised through this fundraiser and another one are about to run out, and we will need to cover the expenses in 2025). A detailed breakdown of the costs can be found in the updates below.
We truly appreciate any help, whether it’s donating in any amount, or sharing the campaign to spread the word.

Hello everyone. This is an urgent fundraiser to bring part of Ahmad Al-Bardawil's (expat student,25) family: Father (72 years old) Mother (62 years old), and little sister from Gaza (Rafah refugee area into Egypt via the Ya-Hala office.) His parents and little sister are unable to withstand the harsh living conditions and borderline starvation paired with pre-existing health conditions. And the situation keeps getting worse by the day, The price to get each individual from Rafah to Egypt dropped from 10k to 5k per person, and is more feasible at the moment.
A little background on the situation:
Al-Bardawil family was originally located in Northern Gaza, forced to flee at the beginning of the ground operation to the Khan Yunis Refugee camp, and lost all their homes in Northern Gaza to bombing then forced to flee yet again to Rafah recently where more than 1.7 million Gazans are taking shelter in terrible conditions in a very small and cramped area, tents are drowning in rain, and the living expenses soared to new heights with the lack of sufficient aid reaching those areas.
Pictures of the family homes/neighborhood in Northern Gaza, taken on Jan 13 by local reporters.
General conditions of tents/shelters in Southern Gaza at the moment:
Where the money would go:
-15k$ paid to Ya Hala's office in Egypt for 3 people to get accross (It's a governmental licenced coordination & travel agency)
~5-10k$ for living/health expenses ( rent, food, check-ups..etc) for a few months hopefully until the war is over, any excess would be sent back to the family in Gaza to support them or go to a similar cause.
-Cover the 3% deducted GoFundMe fees (750$)
Khalid and Muna have an expat son who studies in Egypt (Ahmad), he reached out asking for help to reunite with his family, bring them to safety and cater to them until the war is over.
Even if the war is over today, there is no hope in the horizon for the people of Gaza to resume their ordinary life shortly after, a destruction of catastrophic proportions has and is taking place as we speak, every donation helps make a change.
