Help the Barrette-Harvie Family

Donation protected
On February 1st, Dave received blood test results showing that he had an extremely low white blood count and was told he needed to go to Thunder Bay for a bone marrow biopsy.

On February 13th, the family receivedfurther test results showed that Dave has acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.  He is currently in Thunder Bay where he has started an aggressive month of chemotherapy which will be followed by a week off and then another month of aggressive chemo.

After the two rounds of chemo, they hope he will be well enough to return to Kenora to continue treatment.  Initial results show that his cancer hasn't metastasized or spread and he survival rates for this kind of cancer is 40% among adults.
Dave has always been a smiling and knowledgable presence around Kenora's LCBO but will be off work for up to a year.  His wife, Jenn, can often be found at Safeway with a flower in her hair, providing outstanding customer service and a smile for anyone who needs one.

Over the next 3 months, there will be many trips to Thunder Bay for Jenn and the kids, loss of income, and other financial burdens that come along with this type of news.

Any donation is greatly appreciated.
