Help the Beamon Family After a Tragic House Fire

October 1st: a day that, for most, was a regular Fall day was a living nightmare for my family and I. Hi, my name is Mykaela, and my family has just endured a major setback in our lives. Around 8:10 PM, neighbors came to our house screaming for everyone to leave because the front porch of our home was on fire. Before we knew it, the entire front porch was ablaze and, within 20 minutes, the majority of our home was gone.

Fortunately, many of our brave neighbors managed to rescue the family members in the home including: my 78 year old disabled grandfather and 77 year old grandmother. While everyone, including our dog, survived the fire, we’ve lost countless memories and many of our possessions. Our home served as the base for a small Black owned business, and, unfortunately, all of the items used to run the business were destroyed in the fire.

While this has been both traumatizing and baffling, my family is resilient and will rebuild after this setback in life. Any donations to help us get back on our feet whilst we search for new housing and replace our items lost are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
