Amtullah Begum - A Request For Sadaqah & Zakat
Amtullah Begum became a widow in the early years of her marriage. She has single-handedly raised her three daughters, two sons, and now their families despite having no reliable source of income that she can rely on.
Amtullah now 87 years old doesn't think she has been lucky in this life. Nevertheless, her soul has been repeatedly humiliated by poverty, but by the mercies of Allah, her happiness can be restored through your Sadaqah and Zakat. All your support towards this campaign will help give her a Mu'jizah from Allah through you.
She is a true reflection of the saying that "bad things happen to good people." In her early years, she studied homeopathic care under her father. Amtullah has gone ahead to help members of her local community without charging them or asking for a very minimal fee and still shares her food with other people even when she does not have enough.
Both Amtullah's sons are now married with children; however, they do not have decent jobs to meet up with financial responsibilities, so they live with their mother under the same roof. Her eldest daughter, who is also a widow with two kids, also lives with Amtullah in the same house. Her second daughter lost her eyesight and moved back home alongside the third daughter. Her last daughter was abandoned by her husband while suffering from depression caused by abuse in her previous marriage.

The entire family lives together in Bengaluru, India, a one-bedroom House that gets flooded every time it rains because the foundations have not been filled. Their roof is also made out of metal sheets that allow rainwater to get into their home because they can not afford to pay the costs of standard roofing.
Amtullah's sons have tried as much as they can to break this unending chain of poverty; however, in a country where over 68.8% of the population live on less than $2 a day, the odds are stacked against them. Nevertheless, they still do what they can to keep the family fed with whatever they can earn. They are unable to save any money aside as savings for their housing or medical needs.
Nothing seems to work in the family's favor as they have never been in luck. They often revolve around disappointments, sorrow, and pain, but Amtullah still hopes that things will turn around for the better.
My name is Rida Hasan, with the Help of Mubeen Qureshi Chairperson at Shalimar islamic center have decided to set up this campaign because I know there are kind-hearted souls in various parts of the world who are searching for ways to touch the lives of people like Amtullah who are in dire need of a breakthrough.
Over the last 17 years, My family and I have been in touch with Amtullah and her family while supporting them financially. However, it has become evident that the Begum family requires a permanent solution to their current challenges. This is why I am telling you about them.
Through this campaign, I am calling for the support of brothers and sisters in this holy month of Ramadan. I know it has been a challenging time for millions of people worldwide, but the holy book does assure us that "Those who spend in charity will be richly rewarded" (57:10).
Our goal is to raise the sum of $40,000, which summarizes a current estimate to help this family rebuild their home.
As the project progresses, we will continually share updates with supporters to see first-hand how their financial donations will impact the lives of Amtullah, her children, and grandchildren.
No amount is too big or too small and even sharing this campaign with others to help it reach its goal will be counted as charity.
Thank you for your support!
Verily, God does not wrong [anyone] by as much as an atom's weight; and if there be a good deed, He will multiply it and will bestow out of His grace a mighty reward. (Quran 4:40)
