Help the Beres Family Save Their Farm
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Nina and I’m fundraising on behalf of my mother and stepfather, the Beres family, in our time of desperate need. Bill and Penny Beres have always been giving people; folks who offer a percentage of their cheques to United Way each week, regular donors to the local food bank who also worked yearly as servers for the Kitchen’s Christmas meals to help those in need, and people who were always happy to help youth charity sports drives at the gates of Chrysler during their working days.
Unfortunately however, tragedy and misfortune have struck our family and now Bill and Penny are in dire need of your help. Penny was diagnosed with lung cancer last year and had her right lung removed; her cancer is currently in remission but she’s still unable to work due to her poor health and the ongoing struggles of surviving such a debilitating form of cancer. Then in February of this year Bill was diagnosed with stage 4 Thymoma, which is a rare cancer that started with a large mass behind his breast plate, and quickly spread to his lungs and liver. Tragically, there is no cure for this kind of cancer.
With very little income and no ability now to farm the land they live on combined with the ongoing expenses incurred during two separate battles with cancer and end of life care for Bill, the Beres are in very real danger of losing their home, a very small, family-owned farm, to the bank. They are currently struggling to make payments on a $200,000 mortgage with their pensioner’s income, which is likely to decrease in the foreseeable future. Although their friends and loved ones are all trying to pitch in, our family just isn’t able to make ends meet. That’s why I’m here today asking you to donate whatever you can spare to help Bill and Penny save their farm from a bank that doesn’t have a heart, and doesn’t seem to care about my mother and stepfather, or their simultaneous battles with cancer. Please know that 100% of your donations will go directly to supporting Bill and Penny in their time of need, as they work to pay their mortgage, and provide food and shelter for both themselves and their four lovely dogs who know nothing else besides life on the farm we all love so dearly.
Let's come together to help these people who were so giving to others, and stop the bank foreclosing on another small, family-owned farm. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for any assistance you can offer.
