**Help the Bitencourt Family Recover from a Hit-and-Run Accident**

On Sunday, January 26, 2025, my parents, Marco and Rose Bitencourt, and my cousin, Francine Bitencourt, were driving home from my sister’s house when tragedy struck. Just five minutes after leaving, a driver veered into their lane and crashed into their car—then fled the scene, leaving them behind.

By God's grace, two nurses happened to be passing by and immediately stopped to help until emergency responders arrived. Marco suffered a fractured sternum, a punctured lung, and bruised ribs. After time in the ICU, he was discharged but faces a long recovery. Rose remains in the ICU with three broken ribs, two fractured vertebrae, and internal bleeding. The medical team is working to stabilize her. Francine also sustained severe bruises. She was released after receiving care in the ER but also faces a journey of recovery over the next few weeks.

Beyond their physical injuries, the financial burden is overwhelming. Their car was totaled, and are unable to work—Marco in construction, and Rose in preschool education. With the driver still unidentified, they are left to bear the costs of medical bills, lost wages, and replacing their vehicle.

While this has been a painful and difficult time, our hearts are filled with gratitude. The accident could have been far worse, but God’s mercy was evident—protecting them from an even greater disaster and sending help in their time of need. We trust in His faithfulness and know that He will continue to provide.
