Black Barn Family Fund
Dearest Guests and Friends,
Earlier this month, we were forced to close our dining room out of an abundance of caution due to the global health crisis surrounding the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). To temporarily close our doors to our friends and neighbors is heartbreaking, but the greatest loss we feel is for our hardworking and incredible staff. So many people walk through our doors each day before the first guests arrive, and those people - our family - are suffering unimaginable financial strain. Though we can no longer generate enough revenue, we are trying to do what we can to help them get by. This is why we humbly ask you to donate as significantly as you can.
We have started this GoFundMe campaign to benefit only our Black Barn staff who will share 100% of all donations. Not only will your donation help the servers who guide you through every step of your meal, the bartenders who make specialty cocktails just for you, and the hosts who welcome you with a smile and wish you well as you walk out the door, it will help every team member behind the scenes. You will help Juan, our dishwasher who is always smiling and spreading joy to our staff. You will help Virgillo, who effortlessly preps, fills and folds each piece of our delicious butternut squash ravioli with the greatest of care. You will help Candelario, who mixes and bakes our house-made sourdough bread to perfection every day. You will help Omar, our barback who stocks our fridges, makes our Bloody Mary mix for brunch, and is one of the last people to leave every night. You will help all of our teammates who now have no source of income - our prep cooks and line cooks who make every component of every meal possible, our porters who clean our restaurant top to bottom every day, our back waiters and food runners who effortlessly move between crowded tables to make sure you have everything you need. Your donation will help our Black Barn family.
Thank you for being part of our amazing community. We are so grateful for the support we've already received and hope you will join us in continuing to support the people who make Black Barn possible. We cannot and would not want to do this without them. Please share our story with your community - those you know who can help us reach our goal. Today our lights are dim, our chairs are empty, and our event spaces are quiet, but our hearts are full.
We can't wait to welcome you back and cook for you again at Black Barn.
