Help The Blind Filmmaker Join the 21st Century

I am a legally blind journalist, filmmaker and author on the Autism Spectrum. I have worked in these fields for over 30 years. 

 

Throughout my life I had to prove to professors, coaches, school administrators and interviewees that my disabilities were not synonymous with inability.

I handled the problem by making documentaries about people with disabilities. To date, I have made 9 documentaries, some of which won film festival awards and were televised. In addition, I also have written articles and 2 books about disabled persons handling adversity.

I have earned money over the years by selling DVDs and self published books, winning awards, and writing news articles for national & local outlets. But times have changed, DVDs are a thing of the past and journalism opportunities have diminished. I am determined to make the leap to the digital domain so that my work might impact many more people and expand awareness of the challenges and triumphs that people with disabilities have achieved. I also hope that this will help me to maintain my financial self-sufficiency.

I have researched companies that can help me make the leap and have found Readers Magnet, a well-respected and highly rated self-publishing company in San Diego, Calif. I am working with them to redesign my website and to make each of my documentaries and books available for download for a small fee.

The new website will also allow me to promote my journalism and speaking services as well as share a few dozen of my articles, from Runner's World and NYT to local outlets and publications serving people with disabilities.

In addition to a new website with e-commerce capability, Reader's Magnet will be performing search optimization of the website and web promotion of my latest book Born Blind: The Traumas & Triumphs.
