Help the Bratton Family after Car Accident

Hi friends! This is a long shot but here it goes...

As you may or may not know, David and I got into a pretty bad car accident on 12/29/2024. Luckily, our seat belts and the air bags did their job and we both walked away with only bad bumps, bruises, and scrapes.

However, with David currently job hunting after just graduating the Fire Academy and me being a SAHM (for the most part), we do not currently have an emergency fund.

And, on top of that, I made a HUGE mistake and declined the gap insurance on our vehicle so now, not only are we without a car until David gets into a fire station, but we are going to have to continue paying on a car that has been totaled.

That is where I'm hoping for a little help. As many of you know, I am a giver. I don't ask for money unless we are desperate. That said, I am only asking for the bare minimum even though we can absolutely benefit from more. We owe $14k on our Impala and anticipate that the insurance is only going to cover around $8k (best case). Given that we are barely paying our bills now, we would be forever grateful to get this one off our plate. Especially since we don't have the asset that we are paying on and it is our highest monthly payment. This is currently our biggest stressor regarding our car accident.

PS. If by some miracle we exceed the $5k, we will continue putting donations towards our loan until it's paid off. We also need to replace the girls' car seats. I would also love a new pair of glasses since mine did get slightly damaged in the wreck (still functional, though, I can wear them). Thanks again! ❤️
