Help the Burbo Family Rebuild After Storm
Donation protected
Hi Friends and Family,
I never thought we would be here setting up a Gofundme but here we are. As many of you already know our home was destroyed by the violent storm on June 25th. A massive oak tree fell on our house, that we rent, causing severe damage and making it uninhabitable. Luckily my father, brother and I are all safe along with our two kitties and doggy. Unfortunately we are going to be without a home for at least two months, and into the foreseeable future.
To see the full effect, here is a link to the footage from Fox 17 where they interviewed me just hours after the incident.
For those who don't know me, my name is Alex Burbo and I own a small business here in the Grand Rapids area, Littlefoot Coffee Roasters. My brother Todd and I also host a small podcast out of our home called Soccer Situations. We both take care of our elderly father (who lives below us) who just last week had a traumatic fall and a severe break in his arm.
Below are pictures of the studio in our dining room we had built for the podcast before and after the storm -
Today, 6/26, we received news that with almost certainty asbestos is in our place so everything we own must be thrown out - all of our furniture, personal items, and clothing are going to be gone along with so much that we haven't event taken stock of. So, here we are asking you all for help. Please help with whatever you can. So many of you have already reached out to offer a place to stay or just escape the chaos which is greatly appreciated.
We are starting this off at $12,000 because we really don't know yet just how much it's going to cost us to relocate and settle temporarily and then eventually move back in and replace everything. Thank you all for even taking the time to read all of this and for reaching out in support.
