Help the Butler family recover from a tragic fire at home

Hello everyone,

Thank you for being here. It's with a heavy heart that I'm here today to fundraise support for my Mom (50) and little brother (13) who have been displaced by the Kitchener fire near Fairview mall. They've lived in the building for the last 10 years, and everything they own is now compromised.

They've been told that they are not allowed to return to the apartment for the foreseeable future, and may lose all of their personal belongings due to structural concerns in the building now being deemed unsafe. This is extremely devastating for my family.

At the time of the fire, my mom and little brother had to leave the scene with Red Cross and nothing but their pajamas on. This is extremely heart-breaking as my mom is a single mother raising my little brother, and my younger sister's child (3) on a low income.

In a super unfortunate turn of events, my Mom missed a letter from a few months ago that her insurance coverage would no longer include Tenants Insurance and we're now figuring out options, and a course of action.

In the meantime, I'm raising donations to help relieve the stress of being displaced, as well as the unplanned financial lose from losing all their personal belongings with no clear answer in the foreseeable future about if and when they can come home.

Your donations will help cover the cost of accommodations, clothes, personal sanitary items, toys for my little brother, groceries, and any day-to-day needs.
