Help The Cactus Wranglers Reach Global Finals
Donation protected
We are The Cactus Wranglers, a team of 6th-grade students from Battle Rock Charter School in Cortez, Colorado, who participate in Destination Imagination—a STEAM-based academic program that builds creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking through hands-on, team-driven challenges. After months of dedication and problem-solving, we earned first place at the regional competition in Durango this March, which advanced us to the state competition. There, we proudly earned second place after competing with teams from all over Colorado. Now, we are thrilled to share that we’ve qualified to attend the Global Finals in Kansas City, Missouri, where we’ll compete against top teams from around the world from May 22–24.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students—and we are beyond proud. The cost to attend is significant. The registration fee alone is $5,500, and that’s before adding in travel, lodging, and meals for our five team members and two coaches. Our families also want to be there to cheer us on and support our students, and we’d love to be able to help ease some of the burden for them, too.
For our donors, we would love to offer a special performance of our challenge solution. Our team members are excited to share what they’ve learned, explain their creative process, and answer any questions about Destination Imagination and the work they’ve done. It’s a chance to see their teamwork, innovation, and enthusiasm in action—and to celebrate the journey you’ve helped make possible.
We hope to have some community performances scheduled soon, and we’re happy to accept special requests for performances or Q&A sessions with our team.
