Help The Cafe Meow Recover From Recent Break Ins

The Cafe Meow is Minnesota’s first cat cafe and over the years has helped over 1000 cats find forever homes! However, they have recently had a streak of bad luck at their New Hope location when someone broke in on November 11th and stole their safe. As if that wasn’t enough, the same person attempted to break in and rob them again a few days ago. He did get away again but the police arrived early enough where he wasn’t able to actually take anything that time. The police department has been checking on the property nightly and will continue to do so to help give peace of mind (Thank you New Hope Police department!!).

Luckily, both times the thief appeared to have no interest in the cats who were in the cat side of the cafe. So all of the cats have remained happy and safe! But it definitely could have been much worse.

Due to these events, the Cafe has been forced to postpone much needed improvements/repairs to the building and instead they have installed upgraded security measures to deter continued break in’s and keep the kitties happy and safe!

Keeping the people and cats safe have been a top priority for the cafe staff and we are so thankful for that! But it’s hard to see a small business who is doing so much good for the community go through two break ins in one month. So I’m starting this Go Fund Me to try to help them recoup some of the costs associated with the security upgrades!

What are the security upgrades and why is your goal $7000?

First, they have installed a 24/7 monitored security system and sensors throughout the cafe. This way if the thief comes back the police will immediately be notified so they can get there even sooner. Cost: 1533.02

Plus they will be installing $5263 in other security measures

The additional buffer in the goal amount is to account for GoFundMe fees.

What about their insurance policy?

After deductible, their insurance company claim didn’t even cover the cost of replacing JUST the door the first time. Now they have a second door to replace and the added debt from that.
