Funeral Expenses COVID19 Victim Ramon Carandang
Our dear friend and coworker Myrna, lost her husband, Ramon Carandang, due to complications from COVID 19. He was hospitalized at LIJ Hospital in Queens, NY for 17 days, 9 of them in ICU. With heartfelt sadness, we were informed that he passed away on April 16, without his family around him.
Ramon was a loving father and husband. Ramon worked as an electrical draftsman at MGE Engineering for over 20 years. He was a hardworking, reliable, honest and steadfast man. He worked hard all week, so that he could enjoy life's simple pleasures, like spending time with his wife and sons, visiting friends and attending church. Ramon's friends describe him as full of life, funny and always made people feel at ease. Ramon leaves behind his wife Myrna, and 2 sons: RJ, a US Marine, and Ramyr, a senior in high school, heading to college in the fall.
Myrna, RJ and Ramyr Carandang are devastated by this loss, so my coworkers and I have started a collection to help cover the cost of Ramon's funeral and to ease the family's burden with other expenses, including college for their 17 year old son. We are reaching out to all our communities to help them with the difficult steps ahead.
UPDATE - Ramon's memorial will be held privately on May 30 in Queens.
Thank you,
Deborah, Oni and Martha
