Help the Carters Overcome Health and Financial Struggles
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
Life has taken an unexpected and heartbreaking turn for our family, and we are reaching out for support as we navigate this overwhelming time.
In November, both my husband, Justin, and I lost our jobs, putting us in a difficult financial position. Since then, we’ve been doing everything possible to stay afloat—DoorDashing, donating plasma, and picking up any available work. Thankfully, Justin has started a new job, we have found a new place to live, and can start moving into our apartment this week. But our challenges are far from over.
Just a couple weeks ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer (invasive lobular carcinoma, left breast with left axillary lymph node metastasis to be specific). I start chemotherapy on April 3, which will last 4-5 months, followed by surgery and radiation. This means I will be unable to work for at least six months while undergoing treatment. On top of that, Justin was recently diagnosed with hereditary hemochromatosis, a genetic disorder that can cause serious health complications if left untreated.
With my health crisis and our recent job losses, all financial responsibility has now fallen on Justin, and we are struggling to make ends meet. While my Medicaid covers my medical expenses, we still need help with basic living costs, rent, utilities, and bills while I fight this battle.
We are asking for support to help with:
• Rent and utilities for our new apartment
• Basic living expenses (food, household needs, transportation)
• Bills to keep our family stable while I recover
Our two children, Izabelle (12) and Kaiote (2), are our world. We are doing everything we can to keep their lives as stable as possible, but we can’t do this alone.
If you can donate, no matter the amount, we would be incredibly grateful. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing our story means just as much. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers.
With love,
Mykie & Justin Carter
