Support the Chen-Hall Family After Devastating House Fire
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
We are reaching out on behalf of Susan, Jason, and their 9-year-old daughter Satomi Chen-Hall, along with their Shih Tzu puppy, Mochi.
On Friday, January 31st, while en route to visit family in Washington, D.C., they received a persistent call from an unknown number. When they finally answered, they were met with the devastating news—their home and apartment of 12 years was on fire.
Rushing back, they arrived to find the authorities on the scene, but their home and all their belongings completely lost to the flames. While the pain of losing everything is unimaginable, they continue to hold onto gratitude, knowing that they still have each other.
Thankfully, their insurance has provided temporary short term housing However, they now face an overwhelming challenge: rebuilding their lives from nothing.
How You Can Help
So many of you in our community and have shared that you wish to help!
The Chen-Hall family are so thankful for you your support and generosity,
Both Susan and Jason are teachers and will need to return to work and get back to "normal" despite the magnitude of this loss
They will need immediate support to purchase:
*Everyday essentials
*Basic necessities for Satomi and Mochi
*Future housing needs beyond the next month
Thanks to the incredible generosity so far they no longer need clothes especially as they have limited space (sharing one room)
We know times are tough for many, but any amount—big or small—will make a difference in helping this beautiful family get back on their feet.
If you’re unable to donate, please share this fundraiser to help spread the word.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. ❤️
