My name is Doaa . I am 30 years old. I am a teacher from the city of Khan Yunis. I have one daughter her name is Zeina, who is 5 years old. I have been responsible for her since she was born, and we live together in my family’s house. I made sure to provide all the needs of my only child since her birth, as she lived in luxury. All of my salary was allocated to her, and if I could give my eyes to her, I would not be stingy.
The war came like a never-ending nightmare. Our lives changed, and I could never imagine the details of what we are living through. I no longer went to work because schools were closed, destroyed, and overcrowded with displaced people. My child Zeina no longer went to kindergarten, and when I asked her why you don’t go to kindergarten? She answered fluently: Because of the war. In fact, I was shocked by her answers. She was aware and aware of what was happening despite her young age.
Zeina, my beautiful daughter, lost her right to education, play, security, treatment, and healthy food. She lost all her rights as a child.
When she hears the sounds of bombing, she screams and cries hysterically and clings to me, even at night when she sleeps. She refuses to sleep next to the windows and asks me to hold her hand all night and for her to sleep in the middle so she can feel safe, but she does not find it because there is simply no safe place.
We lived through terrifying days in my city Khan Yunis. I cannot believe that we have survived until this moment. When I remembered the moments of terror in December and January, I feel terrified by these painful memories, and unfortunately they are still continuing. They will not end yet.
We were displaced more than five times. We left our homes at night and it was cold. I did not have any covers and we could not find a place to stay. We displaced to Rafah. We were nine people in a small room near the Egyptian border. We were not safe there. The bombing next to us was violent, a few meters separated us from it. We were forced to displace again and live in a tent that lacked the basic necessities of life. We found it difficult to get water, and we used to cook over the fire because of the lack of gas, and let us also not forget the crazy high prices. I was unable to get my daughter’s needs. For example, a bag of chips was 10 shekels( 2.66$) instead of one shekel (0.27$). The lack of healthy food, and if it was available, its price was very expensive. The price of chicken reached 70 shekels(18.59$)
At the beginning of May, we were displaced from Rafah to Mawasi Khan Yunis, the sixth displacement .I contracted hepatitis due to the spread of pollution everywhere, the lack of hygiene, and the spread of flies in the tent in which we live. Even my daughter got sick with colds, flu, and infections, and despite this (as it is considered a disease that generally affects children), I found medicine with difficulty and at a high price
Now we are approaching ninth month since the start of the war, and the situation is going from bad to worse.
I hesitated a lot before creating the link, as I never imagined that this situation would end up here, but this is the only way for us to survive.
What are our goals and how can you help me?
  • Obtaining support and assistance: Your support is very important so that my child and I can evacuate from the Rafah land crossing when the borders are opened and we can live in safety.
Note : The cost of travel per person through Ya Hala Company is $5,000.
  • Survival: My daughter is the most precious thing I have. I want her to have a decent life
In the beginning, when I travel, I will be without work. I need to pay rent, kindergarten fees, and necessities fees, among other expenses for treatment, education, and papers, until I find a job that will support me for that.
Any amount, whether large or small. It will be like a bright candle in the midst of the darkness in which we live. It will be an essential step for us to rebuild our dreams.

This is a picture of my child in kindergarten. She was outstanding. She loved her kindergarten, her teacher, and her classmates very much. She wants to become a doctor and a chef in the future.

Here she fell asleep in fear because of the sound of intense bombing during our displacement in Rafah
