Help the Children of Meyotte, Haiti
Donation protected

My name is Rich Lawlor and I have been volunteering in Haiti since the earthquake back in January 2010. On that day over 250,000 Haitians died as a result of that earthquake and much of Haiti's limited infrastructure was destroyed. Much aid came to Haiti initially but most of it did not reach the folks it was intended to. The country today still remains in turmoil after the earthquake and many of the people still live in tents for fear of another earthquake and concrete tumbling on them and their families. On my first trip I met my friend Edner Decossard who was a translator in the makeshift refugee camp set up outside of Port-Au-Prince. He is a college educated elementary school teacher whose school was destroyed by the quake and many of the students and fellow teachers died. Since then he has tried to rebuild this school in Meyotte which is one of the poorer sections of Haiti. Most of the parents of the 80 or so students are unable to pay for their tuition which amounts to just under $500 per student per year. He has been trying to do this on his own with my financial support but we cannot do it alone. That is why I am turning to you for help. I restarted an online Go Fund Me campaign fundraiser in hopes of raising $40,000. This is the budget for one school year. Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere prior to the earthquake and it has only gotten worse since then. I don't know how to fix the big problem over there but I do know that 100% of the money you donate will go directly to Edner which will be used to rebuild his school for his community. He has big plans for this school including for it to be a community center, provide adult education to other members of the community, develop a computer training program, and a book lending program to name a few. He is extremely intelligent and driven but needs our support. You have no idea how much this will mean to so many people in this community. Also if you could please share this with your friends and families on social media to spread the word that would be wonderful. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Thanks Again and Merci Anpil,
