Help The Class Work Project recover from burglary

Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to read it. This is an emergency fundraiser needed for us, the Class Work Project and Lumpen Magazine, to recover from a recent burglary at our office.

On Thursday, 2nd February, our office at Pelican House in Bethnal Green, as well as several offices of other grassroots organisations in the building, were broken into and burgled. The burglars came twice: first at around midnight, and then they returned several hours later that same night to continue breaking doors and stealing electronic devices, bikes and other items of value, causing severe loss to us and other organisations using the building.

Due to the burglary, the Class Work Project lost a laptop used for graphic design. This piece of equipment is necessary to carry on our publishing activities, including Lumpen magazine: a journal of poor and working-class writers. Lumpen’s newest issue is in the making and likely will be delayed unless we replace the laptop soon.

The Class Work Project is a grassroots organisation that is run on a very small and equally tight budget that does not allow us to deal with emergencies such as the recent burglary smoothly. We are not one of these NGOs with bottomless spending allowances, nor are we personally in the position to replace the missing equipment. As such, we would like to appeal to you: help us to get back on track with our work with a donation, big or small!
