And we're underway from the corner of Adelbert and Circle!
The Cleveland Scrappers are a team of blind and visually impaired athletes who play an adaptive version of baseball. It is called beep baseball because the ball emits an audible tone that enables blind players to hit and field.
We as a community are fortunate to have the only beep baseball team in Ohio and they're located right here in Cleveland! Being the only team in town has its disadvantages, as all games are played out of state.
Traveling can get expensive and the Case Western Reserve University Division of Public Safety would like to help raise money to offset some of their costs. The goal is to get the Scrappers to the 2025 National Beep Baseball World Series in St. Charles, Missouri!
How can you help? Not only can you donate to this fundraiser but you can also attend our baseball game between blind/visually impaired athletes playing against blindfolded officers with the CWRU Division of Public Safety.
When: September 7, 2024 at 11:00 am
Where: Case Western Reserve University
Van Horn Field
2158 Adelbert Road, Cleveland, OH 44106
Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs or a blanket. Parking is available at the university garage located next to the field.
We hope to see you at the game where we will be selling hotdogs, chips, and drinks. You can also enter to win some incredibly amazing gift baskets! Surely not to disappoint.
Thank you and please consider donating to this worthy and truly humbling cause. All proceeds go directly to the Scrappers.
