Fundraiser for the Family of Ann Coates

The story that leaves the Coates family needing your support is one that we can all understand.

Almost three years ago, Ann was upfront teaching her AP Psychology students when, out of the blue, her vision got a bit blurry. That cloudy moment at Hanover High was the beginning of the battle between Ann and Cancer. A battle she and Scott fought together, with family and friends- often for family and friends. Ann was simply essential to all.

Despite surgeries and treatments, Ann kept teaching because she loved it, kept laughing because she was witty and joyful, kept finding pure pride in Andrew and Sophie because she truly worships them.

A formidable combination of ferocity and charm, she brought her signature persistence into each day of the last three years; unfortunately, the cost of medical care cannot be wished, loved, or willed away.

Three years’ worth of medical bills and unexpected costs pile up exponentially. Insurance does not, practically speaking, ensure financial well-being.

We are hoping to do for Scott, Sophie, and Andrew, what Ann Coates did for all of us. If you knew Ann, or have loved someone she loved, you know she always showed up with both thoughtful advice AND practical help. She made a career out of cutting loose the burdens of others; Ann unlocked so much love and potential.

We are hoping this account helps Scott and the kids stay on the road she was so proud of - happy, hard-working, and loved within their EB and Hanover families.
